Magnesite
Raw magnesite is one of the main raw materials of the Slovak Republic , deposits of which are estimated for at least 100 years and are located in the region between Kosice and Lucenec along a 160 km stretch. With its resources of raw magnesite, Slovakia is among the richest in Europe, being 4th in the world ranking and owning the largest magnesite mine in Europe . The history of Slovak magnesite mining goes back to the end of 19th century, meaning a long tradition of this sector. The production of magnesite is exported to more than 30 countries and four continents all over the world.
