SPZ-1 - ground power unit

The SPZ-1 is a mobile machine determined for the starting of aircraft and helicopter engines with an electric starter and testing of their onboard electrical equipment.

The SPZ-1 is able to execute:

• starting an engine of a single aircraft with a on-way voltage 28V
• starting an engine of a single aircraft with a one-way 28V with increasing the voltage of the starter motor to 56V in the course of the starting cycle on signal from the aircraft
• starting an engine of a single aircraft with a one-way voltage 2x 28V
• testing of the onboard one-way voltage electrical equipment of the aircraft fully regulated to the extent of 20V to 30V
• testing electrical onboard equipment of the alternative voltage of an aircraft 1x 115V / 400Hz and 3x 115V / 400Hz (3x 208V / 400Hz)

The SPZ-1 is constructed in its own bodywork – container, which is in the lower part equipped with clamping components for stabilization on a flatbed truck. LOMBARDINI ALDW 2004 combustion engine powered by a three phase generator 3x 208V / 400Hz with a performance of 25kVA is inside the container. The generator provides power for the one-way source block.

The one-way source block consists of an output of a regulated source of 28,5V 300A with a short term overload of 600A, which is determined for the testing of the one-way voltage onboard equipment and for the starting of aircraft engines with turbostarters. Further sources of small output are used to recharge the battery accumulator and for feeding the internal circuit of the SPZ-1. The source block is equipped with its own microprocessor control parameters. The source output stabilizes the final voltage at the end of a twelvemeter cable connected to the aircraft.

The SPZ-1 further contains output accumulator sources comprising of two independent 24V / 75Ah sources. The sources are determined for the starting of aircraft engines and electric starters which in the initial phases of starting exceed the current value of 1500A. The SPZ-1 is entirely managed in separates regimes of activities and control the immediate state of the equipment operating the steering and controls.

The equipment operating the steering and controls consist of an industrial computer, input and input circuits. In the machine information is stored regarding the course of the activities of the SPZ-1. All the necessary data regarding the equipment are portrayed on the planary display. The regimes of activities are selected from the keyboard which is together with the display located on the operating panel. The function basically enables the operation of the assistance of the remote control.

The container contains an independent system of heating and internal ventilation equipment.
