ALIGATOR 4x4 - Observation and reconnaissance post

ALIGATOR 4x4 - Observation and reconnaissance post is characterized by a small turret MBK-2 MOWAG. The conception of the driving system and self-supporting vehicle body is the same as at the basic ALIGATOR 4x4 - Mobile command post. The vehicle crew is of three: driver, commander and observer-gunner. The observation turret forms an autonomous sub-assembly. It is equipped with day and optionally with day/night all weather FORTIS thermal imager.

The observation cupola is fitted with a one-man operated, externally mounted MG 7.62 mm. The weapon is operated with from inside the vehicle. Depending upon the choice of optics firing is possible by day or day/night. A new belt of ammunition can also be reloaded from inside the vehicle. Six launcher tubes are mounted to the outside of the cupola for firing smoke or antipersonnel grenades with diameter of 76 mm. The traverse and elevation are operated manually.
