ALIGATOR 4x4 - Forward air controller

ALIGATOR 4x4 – Forward air controller is a transport means of high mobility comprised of the ALIGATOR 4x4 vehicle and a special reconnaissance package, and designed:

• to carry out reconnaissance through a forward air controller, acquire reconnaissance data on targets from inside or outside the vehicle, process and forward data to HQ. Its ultimate mission is to direct the action of aircraft against selected targets while providing air support to land forces,
• to feature high mobility and manoeuvrability capabilities and to clear diverse types of man-made and natural obstacles and barriers, including water obstacles through fording and swimming,
• to offer protective defences against the effects of weapons of mass destruction as part of its standard fitting,
• to provide air-, sea- and rail-transportable applications,
• to accommodate a protractible mast with specialised equipment, observation instruments and specialised upgrades, communications systems to secure communications with superior and subordinate levels of command,
• to seat four crewmembers.

ALIGATOR 4x4 – Forward air controller has been incorporated into the inventory of the Slovak Armed Forces.
