ALIGATOR 4x4 - Engineer modification

ALIGATOR 4x4 – Engineer modification is an engineer modification of the ALIGATOR 4x4 vehicle designed:

• to carry out general and detailed reconnaissance with metal detection capability,
• to accommodate a detailed engineer reconnaissance set, a hand-held mine detector, a VMV 8 metal detector, an in-built computer with a geographical information system, an automatic engine stop and restart system, an area demarcation device, and other equipment enabling the crew to conduct assigned missions,
• to accommodate a protractible mast with specialised equipment, observation instruments and specialised upgrades, and communications systems to secure communications with superior and subordinate levels of command,
• to feature high mobility and manoeuvrability capabilities and to clear diverse types of man-made and natural obstacles and barriers, including water obstacles through fording and swimming,
• to offer protective defences against the effects of weapons of mass destruction as part of its standard fitting,
• to provide air-, sea- and rail-transportable applications,
• to seat four crewmembers.

ALIGATOR 4x4 – Engineer modification has been incorporated into the inventory of the Slovak Armed Forces.
